I wanna show you my guitar

This post won't matter to most of you but I felt like telling the story anyway...so here goes

This is my baby. It's a mexican Strat. It's Ice Blue Metallic and it plays like a dream!!

It was just hanging there...in a pawn shop...needing a home!!
I couldn't say no.
The tag said $325 but since I'd brought a young man in who bought another guitar, she agreed to take $250!! Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!!

Well, I fell in love with this guitar. It has such a great personality!!
It's a little noisy but I'll get to that eventually.

It's intonation is spot-on and the action is just right! The neck feels at home in my hand.

One thing I don't like about most Stratocasters is the lack of tone control on the bridge pickup. Some of the American Strats have it but everyone I've ever played didn't.

I thought I'd just fix that.

I looked online and found a wiring diagram. A little solder and Hey!!! I have tone control on my bridge pickup!!
When I dial the tone back to about 7 or 8 it just comes alive!!

The "series mod" does something interesting to the pickups. When the switch is "up" towards the strings, it's a normal strat.
When I switch it "down" and slide the selector switch into the #1 position(Bridge) it runs the middle and bridge in series. The output from the middle pickup empties into the bridge pickup and turns them into Humbuckers!!
In position #5(neck) it does the same thing with the middle and neck pickups!! WoooHooo!!!
Here is the "Series Mod" diagram.

I think next I will install some shielding to quiet things down a bit.
I had a John Mayer Signature Strat here setting intonation for a friend and it sounded really good too. It was quieter (volume) and played well but just didn't seem to "have it" compared to Baby.
I'm going to shoot a video of the tones this guitar will produce. I'll let you know!
Thanks for letting me bore you!!
