Well we did it!! My friend Frank and I did our Zija Bombs at 7:00 this morning and at 7:30 we walked. We started last and finished last but had a great time and helped raise money for a great cause!
The temp was cool, in the low 80's! very comfortable considering the last few weeks.
The difference from last year is NO PAIN!!! We kicked a very steady pace for 2 miles and I have NO PAIN!!!
Several years ago I ran 5 miles at least twice a week and really enjoyed it. Life got in the way with schedules and all and before you know it...
Now I go walk Monday, Wednesday, Friday and take Sunday off. I jog the last quarter of my distance. I do strength training on our Crossbow on the opposite days
We have changed our food habits too. It's probably been around 2 months since we had McDonald's. We did have Wendy's while on vacation though and a few cokes but really not too much. Baby steps...
I cook more at home than Tammy. She's an awesome cook but I like it more. We do a lot of salads and veggies and try to stay away from the fried stuff. I grill a LOT! Including grilled veggies!! So we are learning together that a change of mindset is a good thing.
I feel like I have a new chance to live and I'm not going to waste it.
